คราแรกที่พูดเกศสุรางค์จึงไม่คุ้นลิ้นพอที่จะกลับไปพูดจาอย่างคนในยุคเธอได้อย่างทันควัน ส่วนพุดตานนั้นเมื่อได้มองเห็นความตื่นเต้นที่ฉายชัดบนใบหน้า และได้ยินคำพูดคำจาที่มีสำเนียงของคนยุคเดียวกัน ก็ทำให้หญิงสาวฉุกใจคิด
…หรือเธอไม่ใช่คนเดียวที่ข้ามภพมา?

‘รอมแพง’ เป็นนามปากกาของ ‘จันทร์ยวีร์ สมปรีดา’ มีที่มาจากชื่อนางเอกเรื่องเวียงกุมกามของทมยันตี โดยชื่อนี้เป็นภาษาล้านนาโบราณ แปลว่า ผู้เป็นที่รัก หรือหญิงผู้เป็นที่รัก ซึ่งมีความหมายที่ดี ประกอบกับความชอบส่วนตัวในตัวอักษรล้านนาโบราณ จึงนำชื่อนี้มาใช้เป็นนามปากกา
สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีจากคณะโบราณคดี มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร เอกประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะ โทภาษาไทย เริ่มเขียนนิยายลงเว็บไซต์ประมาณปี 2549 ขณะที่ประกอบอาชีพอย่างอื่นอยู่ และค่อนข้างมีแรงกดดันในการทำงานมากพอสมควร หลังจากมีสำนักพิมพ์สนใจในผลงานและได้เซ็นสัญญา จึงตัดสินใจลาออกจากงานประจำเพื่อมาเป็นนักเขียนอาชีพ ปัจจุบันมีผลงานออกมาแล้ว 22 เรื่อง ผลงานสร้างชื่อ คือ บุพเพสันนิวาส (พ.ศ. 2553)

‘Rompaeng’ is the pen name of Janyavee Sompreeda, originating from the lead female of the story “Wiang Kum Kam” by Thom Yantee. This name is in the ancient Lan-na language, meaning “precious” or “beloved woman,” which has a good meaning when combined with personal preferences in old Lan-na characters. As a result, this name was adopted as her pen name.
She received a bachelor’s degree from Silpakorn University in Archeology, major in art history, and minor in Thai. She began writing her novels on the website around 2006 while also working in another field. Her job put her under a lot of stress. Following the publisher’s interest and signing the contract, she decided to leave her full-time job to pursue a career as a professional writer. There are currently 22 published works, the most well-known is ‘Love Destiny’ (2010).
