ผืนแผ่นดินที่แห้งแล้ง กำลังมีสายฝนโปรยปราย น้ำเริ่มรวมเป็นแอ่งไหลไปตามร่องน้ำ เด็ก ๆ เล่นเรือใบไม้ปล่อยให้เรือลอยไปตามสายน้ำ ลอยผ่านเหล่าอาสาที่กำลังดับไฟป่า ลอยผ่านผู้คนที่กำลังทำฝาย เด็ก ๆ ยกเรือใบไม้ข้ามไป ระหว่างทางมีฝายเล็ก ฝายใหญ่ พื้นดินรอบ ๆ เริ่มชุ่มชื้น มีต้นไม้มากมาย เด็ก ๆ เห็นธรรมชาติที่เปลี่ยนไปเมื่อมีสายน้ำ มีฝาย ที่คืนชีวิต คืนป่ากลับมาอีกครั้ง

The land that had once dried was now wet. Water began to flow through the channel. The kids made leaf boats and let them float down the creek. They floated by the volunteers extinguishing forest fires and the people building weirs. The children lifted across the sailboats. There were small and big weirs along the path, and the land surrounding them became moist. There were lots of trees. Children witnessed nature altering as a result of the water. Some weirs restored life and the forest.

ปรีดา ปัญญาจันทร์ เป็นนักเขียนและนักวาดภาพประกอบที่ได้รับรางวัลเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเด็กมากมาย ปัจจุบันเป็นอาจารย์พิเศษสอนวิชาวรรณกรรมเด็กในสถาบันอุดมศึกษาต่างๆ และเป็นวิทยากรอบรมครู สร้างสื่อการสอนด้วยศิลปะ

Preeda Punyachand is an award-winning author and illustrator of numerous children’s books. He is currently a particular instructor teaching children’s literature in many universities and a lecturer for the teaching training course. He uses art to produce instructional materials.
