“ม้าก้านกล้วย” เป็นกวีนิพนธ์ แต่งโดย ไพวรินทร์ ขาวงาม โดยอาศัยจินตนาการจากวัยเยาว์ เชื่อมโยงเข้ากับโลกปัจจุบันที่เติบวัยและเติบโตเชิงความคิด เป็นความผูกพันของนักเขียนที่ยังไม่ลืมถิ่นเก่าบ้านเกิด แม้จะมาใช้ชีวิตเพื่อหน้าที่การงานในกรุงเทพฯ แต่อารมณ์ “ถวิลหา” ต่อทุ่งนาและน้ำใสใจจริงของคนชนบทยังคงมีอยู่ไม่เสื่อมคลาย และเป็นจุดเริ่มให้กวีอาสาเป็น “สารถี” ขี่ม้าก้านกล้วยหนีโลกแห่งความแออัดแบบวิถีเมือง ทะยานสู่โลกแห่งความงามธรรมชาติแบบวิถีชนบท เพื่อนำมาสู่การตริตรองและแสวงหา “ถิ่นใด” ที่ควรค่าแก่การรอนแรมมาพักพิง และชื่นชมความงามในระดับจิตวิญญาณ

“The Banana Tree Horse” is a collection of poems written by Phiwarin Khao-ngam. A based-on imagination from his touching childhood as well as impressive reflection on the bewilderness felt by alienated rural immigrants in big cities, which is his touching depiction of an unforgettable hometown. Despite living for work in Bangkok, the feeling of “nostalgia” towards the rice fields and the candour of rural people has still persisted. So, it was told through a poet’s story to volunteer as a “rider” to ride a banana tree to escape the world of urban congestion and back to the world of rural natural beauty to bring to contemplation and discovery a “hometown” that is worthy of a rest and admiring the beauty on a spiritual level.

ไพวรินทร์ ขาวงาม เดิมชื่อ ‘ไพรัช’ เป็นคนชอบอ่านหนังสือมาตั้งแต่เด็ก เคยใช้นามปากกา ‘สามเณรไพรัช’ ส่งความเรียงไปลงในนิตยสารชัยพฤกษ์การ์ตูน ต่อมาเปลี่ยนใช้นามปากกาว่า ‘ไพวรินทร์ วิเชียรฉันท์’ ในการเขียนกลอน และได้เปลี่ยนชื่อจริงเป็น ‘ไพวรินทร์’ จึงเป็นทั้งชื่อจริงและนามปากกา และได้รับรางวัลวรรณกรรมสร้างสรรค์ยอดเยี่ยมแห่งอาเซียน(ซีไรท์) จากกวีนิพนธ์ชุด “ม้าก้านกล้วย” นอกจากนี้ยังได้รับการยกย่องเชิดชูเกียรติเป็นศิลปินแห่งชาติสาขาวรรณศิลป์ (กวีนิพนธ์) ในปีพ.ศ.2558

Phiwarin Khao-ngam, formerly named “Phirat”, has been fond of reading since childhood. He used to have a pen name as ‘Novice Phirat’ and his articles by this pen name were sent to Chaiyapruek Cartoon Magazine for publication. Later, he changed his pen name to ‘Phiwarin Wichianchan’ in writing poems. Then he changed the real name to ‘Phiwarin’ used for both his real name and pen name. He received the Best Creative Literature Award of ASEAN (SEA) from the collection of poems, “Banana Tree Horse”. Also honoured as a National Artist in the field of Literature (Poetry) in 2015.
